This facility operates as an acute care hospital providing comprehensive surgical services in a high-volume, fast-paced environment designated as a Level I Trauma Center. The institution maintains dedicated inpatient units, clinic space, and operating room capabilities to support a broad range of thoracic surgical cases. The facility is equipped to deliver quality surgical care and is supported by established clinical protocols for both routine and emergent procedures.

Kentucky offers a range of outdoor and natural attractions, including Red River Gorge, Mammoth Cave, and various state parks suited for hiking and recreation. The state is also home to notable venues such as Churchill Downs, Keeneland, and the Newport Aquarium, as well as landmarks including Kentucky Horse Park and historic sites throughout the region. Museums spanning fine art, contemporary exhibits, and distinctive collections further contribute to the cultural landscape available to those on assignment in the state.

The clinician will provide thoracic surgery coverage across inpatient, clinic, and operating room settings on a day shift schedule with weeknight call and 24-hour weekend call responsibilities. Call coverage spans several locations, while procedures are performed exclusively at two designated sites. Board certification in Thoracic Surgery is negotiable for this on-site assignment. The position requires consistent availability to support both scheduled and emergent thoracic surgical needs across all covered locations.
