Litigation Paralegal

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal in Chicago, Illinois. The successful candidate will support attorneys before, during, and after trials, contributing to the firm's mission of advocating for clients' rights. Duties Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, and affidavits. E-file court documents in state and federal courts. Communicate with clients, courts, and counsel. Conduct legal research and factual investigations. Prepare discovery documents and responses. Coordinate and summarize depositions. Prepare trial binders and exhibits. Draft and file pleadings and motions. Perform administrative duties and manage case logistics. Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes. Organize exhibits, documents, and evidence. Aid attorneys with discovery requests. Liaise between trial teams and third parties. Assist with case settlements. Requirements 2+ years of litigation experience required. Experience in personal injury or related practice areas preferred. Ability to multi-task and manage workload with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in calendaring depositions and hearings. Knowledge of motions, discovery, and court procedures. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Extensive computer and database expertise. Education Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience preferred. Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program preferred. Certifications Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program preferred. Skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Type no less than 35 wpm.
