Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers Location: Lone Tree, CO, US Requisition ID: 180368 Job Level: Senior Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers Market: Transportation Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer responsible for technical engineering assignments in support of Kiewit Corporation’s business across the US and Canada. The primary duties include geotechnical engineering efforts in support of infrastructure transportation alternative delivery (design-build, progressive design build, construction manager/general contractor) projects in the proposal stage or following award. A strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team are critical. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will work with an interdisciplinary team that includes structural, roadway, drainage and materials engineers as well as estimators, schedulers and other construction professionals to identify geotechnical engineering problems and develop appropriate solutions. The engineer will be responsible for overseeing the production and/or review of engineering reports, geotechnical analyses, and directing the work of staff geotechnical engineers. Our construction-focused engineers collaborate with estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and focused on safety. Location This position is based out of our Lone Tree, CO office and includes travel to project offices and work sites as business necessitates. Responsibilities Engineering assignments in support of Kiewit Corporation business. Support bid phase development of innovative and cost‑effective design. Participate in the pursuit team during the bid phase to identify key design risks and develop mitigation plans. Act as Engineer‑of‑Record on design‑build projects to develop design recommendations and produce deliverables. Support efforts to capture and share design lessons learned across Districts. Train and develop junior engineers. Qualifications Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent experience (required). 15+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience on transportation infrastructure projects. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the U.S. Strong all‑around knowledge of geotechnical engineering and technical solutions. Alternative Delivery experience preferred. Experience with design of deep foundations, shallow foundations, slope stability, seismic engineering, retaining walls, earth retention, rock mechanics, settlement of compressible soils, ground improvement techniques, excavation support and dewatering on transportation projects. Experience working in a team setting and directing/reviewing work of others. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong people skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Physical ability to access all points of a construction site in varied climates. Ability to travel to project sites. Experience with AI agents and tools (preferred). Base Compensation $150,000/yr-$210,000/yr (actual compensation varies by education, experience, skillset, and location).
