Entity: FinanceJob Family Group: Finance GroupJob Description: The Finance Performance Analyst is a member of the Terminal & Pipelines Finance team which supports value creation for the Terminals & Pipelines organization, as well as multiple JVs. The role is responsible for forecasting and analysis for the pipeline activities in the U.S. The role will also work to implement improved efficiencies with the coordination of Terminal & Pipelines activities and Commercial Midstream & Logistics activities. The role interfaces across Terminal & Pipelines Finance as well as with the onshore pipeline operations teams to ensure proper forecasting and provide analysis as needed by the business. The analyst will also support the quarterly forecast update, as well as the annual plan by coordinating with the various departments in the business. The role will have an opportunity to gain exposure to the operations, Commercial Midstream & Logistics team, as well as the Terminal & Pipelines management team.Key accountabilitiesMonitor Terminal & Pipelines financial accounts and ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.Partner with the FBT organization to support accurate recording and processing of financial transactions.Serve as the primary finance business partner to Operations Leadership and overhead support functions for financial planning, reporting, and analysis needs.Prepare and deliver variance analysis and commentary for monthly, quarterly, and annual results across assigned pipeline assets and support functions.Manage pipeline operating expense forecasting and actual performance, investigating variances and providing insights to improve forecast accuracy and spending alignment.Coordinate the development and submission of annual financial plans for pipeline operations.Lead the preparation and submission of quarterly Global Forecasting Outlook (GFO) updates.Facilitate monthly financial performance reviews with Operations Leadership, identifying gaps to plan and forecast, and driving actions to achieve asset, business, and joint venture financial targets.Serve as the primary financial contact for the business, providing support for ad hoc financial analyses and requests.Support finance modernization initiatives by enhancing management reporting, data analytics, and decision-support capabilities.Support benchmarking analysis for pipeline and terminal activities.Maintain centralized U.S. Pipelines P&L forecast and reporting files, including shared Excel workbooks and Power BI dashboards, in partnership with the Commercial Midstream & Logistics team.Partner with M&C, Aviation, and ST&S FP&A teams to assess and influence truck and rail cost performance.Manage the JV cutback process to ensure costs are accurately reported for BP and its JV partners.Essential experienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Performance, Operations, or a related discipline.Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and continuously develop new skills and capabilities.Experience with SAP or other enterprise financial systems preferred.Experience in the energy industry with prior cost analyst experience preferred.CapabilitiesStrong business insight with the ability to connect financial and operational performance to business outcomes.Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious with strong problem-solving capabilities.Proven understanding of key financial and operational drivers and their impact on profitability and business performance.Ability to quickly learn, adapt, and apply new concepts, systems, processes, and procedures.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Demonstrated courage and sound judgment in challenging assumptions, addressing complex issues, and driving solutions.Why join usAt bp, we support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and ambitious environment. The anticipated base salary for this position is approximately between $115,000 and $140,000 USD annually, *Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 – 240 hours of vacation per year for full times employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees). You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
