IMPORTANT: MUST be able to pass a Federal Background Check General Summary The Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents and visitors at Malcolm Grow Medical Clinics (MGMC) at Joint Base Andrews-Bolling, MD. Position coordinates the work of employees engaged in cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining government facilities. Directly supervises non-exempt employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assigns tasks to housekeeping and floor technician employees and monitors' progress. Spot checks employees' work to ensure compliance with housekeeping and floor care standards; performs daily performance inspections of assigned areas. Identifies new supplies and materials required for housekeeping and floor care duties and coordinates the requisitions with the Project Manager. Resolves issues or complaints among or regarding to housekeeping and floor care staff members. Monitors employee workloads and notifies management of anticipated increase in workloads. Provides training for housekeeping and floor technician employees. Issues supplies and equipment. Ensures staff members utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate and perform in compliance with established safety procedures. Other Responsibilities Ensures staff members are attired in appropriate uniform and badge in compliance with Company policies. May also perform some maintenance at facility. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements Minimum of two (2) years of experience in all phases of housekeeping and floor care. Ability to understand contract terms. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Effective verbal and listening communications skills. Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge in office equipment such as computers, printers, faxes, and scan machines. Capable of preparing and managing correspondence (documents, reports, emails). May require some experience in basic maintenance. Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility. Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other use of hands; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.; moving of furniture required. Operation of motorized equipment, such as floor stripping, buffing and deep cleaning machines.
