Government Affairs Operations Analyst

Your Impact The Government Affairs Operations Analyst provides integrated policy research, operational, logistical and administrative support to advance Lowe's public policy and government relations priorities. This role monitors and evaluates legislative, regulatory, and administrative developments; prepares clear, actionable analyses; and maintains accurate records and compliance documentation. This position also supports the efficient operation of the Washington, DC office and government affairs team through scheduling, budget tracking, invoice and expense processing, travel and event coordination, and executive support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, discreet, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with senior leaders and external stakeholders. What You Will Do

Analyze government affairs activities, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement efforts and provide support for compliance analysis, administration, and applicable federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Gather intelligence and support preparation of legislative testimony, policy positions, executive briefings, and presentations related to pending or emerging legislative and regulatory matters. Develop project plans, timelines, run-of-show documents, and other planning materials to coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and business partners through program and event execution. Monitor, analyze, and report on legislative, regulatory, and public policy developments impacting Lowe’s; identify emerging trends and issues and support development of position papers, policy briefings, presentations, and other materials for business and government affairs leadership. Coordinate with vendors and service providers, including sourcing support, pricing discussions, deliverables, timelines, and contract-related activities in partnership with procurement, legal, and finance. Serve as a key point of contact for Washington, DC office operations and contribute to special projects and process improvements that strengthen the effectiveness of the government affairs team. Support the planning and execution of government affairs meetings, fly-ins, conferences, receptions, stakeholder engagements, and other events, including logistics, communications, briefing materials, registration, and onsite coordination. Track the government affairs budget and program-related expenses; process invoices, purchase orders, sponsorships, and vendor payments; and partner with finance to reconcile spending and support forecasting. Support government affairs leadership and senior executives with briefing materials, schedules, travel, meeting preparation, stakeholder information, and event logistics.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, law, government, business administration, communications, or a related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable 3 years of experience in government affairs, legal research, public policy, regulatory affairs, corporate affairs, administrative operations, or a related field. Strong research, analytical, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex legal or policy issues to non-legal audiences. Demonstrated organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and sensitive matters accurately. Experience maintaining legislative, regulatory, stakeholder, compliance, budget, or project trackers with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred Skills/Education Experience working in government affairs, corporate affairs, public policy, or political environment (Capitol Hill, state house, trade association, consultancy, or corporate office). Familiarity with budget tracking and operational support systems (e.g., procurement platforms, expense tools). Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives and external partners.
