Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a Level I trauma heart hospital requiring 2 years of pre/post-op experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• PreOp/PACU unit within a cardiac heart hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM, rotating between opener and closer
• Weeknight and weekend on-call required
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Cases include CABG, AAA repair, TAVR, EVAR, Fem-Pop/Fem-Tib-Peroneal Bypass, angiogram, pulmonary decortication, and ablation
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Pre/Post-op experience required
• BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• PACU experience preferred
• Level I Trauma Center and outpatient experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide pre- and post-operative care for cardiac and vascular surgical patients
• Perform pre-op assessments, patient education, and review of history and physical
• Manage arterial lines, CVP monitoring, and dysrhythmia recognition
• Administer IV vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, and other emergency medications
• Perform wound vac management and urinary catheterization as needed
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible to return as travelers after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
