PRN Wound Care License Practical Nurse - LPN

Overview The Wound Care Center Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) reports to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider and delivers wound-related and basic nursing care to patients in the Wound Care Center following WCC and hospital protocols, policies, and clinical practice guidelines. Responsibilities Provide wound care and basic nursing care under RN or Provider direction. Assist in vein clinic after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training and perform intake/discharge as needed. Assist with case management under RN direction in compliance with state regulations. Gather patient information, necessary equipment, and supplies for RN/Provider. Report quality of care issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager. Coordinate with team members on therapeutic interventions to ensure quality of care. Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties after completing required training and may serve as hyperbaric safety director after training. Act as a documentation assistant (scribe) per Healogics policy. Perform other duties as delegated. Required Education, Experience, and Credentials High School Diploma or GED. Graduated from an accredited practical nursing program or state‑approved educational program. Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice (maintained throughout employment). Two (2) or more years of LPN/LVN experience, including at least one (1) year in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long‑Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) setting. Wound‑care experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Competency in Basic Life Support (BLS). Strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills. Basic knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations. Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral and written communication skills. Customer service and follow‑up skills. Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment. Team‑work and collaboration skills. Problem‑solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure. Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems. Physical Demands Stationary position >4 hours; prolonged computer screen viewing >4 hours. Frequent computer keying >4 hours. Reading, communicating, writing; color perception; adequate vision. Lifting/moving up to 20 pounds; lifting up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance; pushing/pulling; bending; reaching/grasping/touching. Work Environment Standard office and patient‑care settings; primarily indoors. Exposure to hazards such as blood‑borne pathogens, toxic chemicals, flammable gases, mechanical equipment, moving objects.
