Surgical Technologist - PRN (Days, On Call) Location: Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia, GA Position Purpose The Surgical Tech will work in the Main OR at Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA. Responsibilities A clinically competent Surgical Technologist, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of the patient during the intra‑operative period and assists with preparation of the surgical patient by performing routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the hospital. This includes assessing and providing basic patient care needs while maintaining patient care standards. The Surgical Technician should be self‑motivated and able to function as a member of a health‑care team. Required Qualifications Certification: Certified through National Board of Surgical Technologists and First Assist (NBSTSA) required. Education: Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program or Surgical Technology program; must be able to read and write English. Experience: Minimum of one‑year current operating room experience (student experience allowed); service orientation and ability to respond effectively to unique needs of all patient populations (neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, geriatrics). Special Qualifications: Knowledge and understanding of basic principles of asepsis, simple biology, leadership qualities, ability to work independently, effective communication and organizational skills.
