UPMC East Hiring Casual Food Service Host

UPMC East is hiring a casual food service host to support the dietary and cafeteria department! Preferred candidates will have open availability on the weekend. This is a casual position that is scheduled based on the department's needs and weekend coverage is required.

Shift times are: 5:30a-2:00p; 6:00a-2:30p; 7:30a-4:00p; 8:30a-4:30p; 10:00a-6:00p.

Purpose: Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction with food service utilizing customer service skills. Delivers and serves nutritionally appropriate and attractive meals in a timely manner. Practices appropriate food handling techniques and food safety procedures in all aspects of job. Responsibilities include:

• Adhering to hand hygiene and infection control procedures on a consistent basis when interacting with customers.
• Adhering to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
• Communicating customer complaints and concerns effectively with other health care team members.
• Performing sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
• Serving patient meal tray using the designated department script, to include proper patient identification.
• Distributing and collecting menus from patients; obtaining selected menus from patients according to departmental procedures.
• Displaying customer service skills when responding to meal service requests, resulting in a satisfied customer.
• Serving meals within established timeframes, adhering to departmental standards for appearance, food quality, and temperature control.

Work permit required if under 18 years old. Licensure, certifications, and clearances include:
