DME Solutions ConsultantWestside Medical Supply | Rochester, NYFull-Time | Hourly | $18.50 - $23.50 per HourScheduleMonday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)1-2 Saturdays per month, 8:30 AM - 1:00 PMAbout the RoleWestside Medical Supply is seeking a compassionate, customer-focused DME Solutions Consultant to join our growing team. In this role, you will help patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals find the durable medical equipment and services that best meet their needs while delivering an exceptional customer experience.If you enjoy helping people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have experience with healthcare, insurance verification, or consultative sales, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoCustomer Service & SalesWelcome and assist walk-in customers in a professional and friendly manner.Help patients and caregivers select appropriate medical equipment and supplies.Demonstrate products and explain features, benefits, and proper use.Identify opportunities to recommend complementary products that enhance patient outcomes.Build strong relationships through outstanding customer service.Insurance & DocumentationAnswer questions regarding equipment availability, insurance coverage, and reimbursement requirements.Verify insurance benefits and collect required documentation.Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable healthcare regulations.Stay informed on Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and accreditation requirements.Order Processing & AdministrationEnter customer information, orders, and documentation accurately.Prepare delivery paperwork, billing documentation, and supporting records.Coordinate with Billing, Delivery, Technicians, and Sales teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.Process payments, co-pays, deductibles, and private-pay transactions.Maintain detailed customer account records and notes.Showroom & Operations SupportAssist with showroom organization, merchandising, and inventory replenishment.Participate in inventory counts and inventory management activities.Attend department meetings, training sessions, and company events.Perform additional duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Strong customer service and communication skills.Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.Preferred QualificationsAssociate degree or equivalent work experience.Experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME), healthcare intake, insurance verification, medical billing, or healthcare customer service.Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance authorization processes, and payer guidelines.Experience with Brightree, Nymbl, Housecall Pro, or similar healthcare software platforms.Key SkillsCustomer-focused and compassionate approach.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance standards.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.Frequent computer use, data entry, and phone communication.Why Join Westside Medical Supply?At Westside Medical Supply, our mission is to improve lives by providing solutions that promote independence, safety, and quality of life.
