Senior Governance Lead

The Senior Governance Lead drives governance excellence, operational maturity, and portfolio oversight within a strategic technology environment. The role improves processes, facilitates key governance forums, manages capacity and service commitments, and gives leadership clear insight into portfolio performance and delivery health. Working across technology, architecture, security, risk, compliance, and business teams, this person supports effective decision-making, operational discipline, and delivery of strategic initiatives while building strong cross‑functional relationships in complex environments. Key Responsibilities Lead process improvement initiatives to strengthen operational effectiveness, governance maturity, and consistency across technology functions. Assess processes, controls, and workflows; identify gaps and implement remediation plans. Develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies, standards, procedures, and operating practices aligned to COBIT, NIST 800-53, and ITIL. Prepare agendas, briefing materials, meeting minutes, action logs, and governance documentation for key forums. Build strong relationships across technology and business teams while managing competing priorities and influencing outcomes. Maintain visibility across strategic initiatives, operational workstreams, recurring commitments, and emerging demand. Own capacity planning, workload management, demand prioritization, and SLA oversight. Identify and proactively manage portfolio risks, dependencies, issues, and delivery challenges. Develop governance reporting, KPIs, OKRs, dashboards, and operational metrics for leadership. Analyze portfolio and operational data to provide actionable insights and support informed decision‑making. Monitor adherence to governance processes, standards, and commitments, driving corrective action where required. Support strategic planning, operational governance, and technology transformation initiatives. Required Experience and Skills Experience in Information Technology, Technology Governance, PMO, Portfolio Management, Process Improvement, or Technology Strategy. Strong understanding of governance and control frameworks, including COBIT, NIST 800-53, and ITIL. Experience in regulated or highly controlled environments, preferably Financial Services. Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and support data‑driven decisions. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment in fast‑paced environments. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
