Real Estate Settlement Attorney

Role Description The Real Estate Attorney will serve as a key legal resource for real estate transactions, providing counsel on contracts, title issues, and settlement matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and drafting purchase agreements, leases, and related real estate documents; conducting legal due diligence; and advising clients and internal teams on risk, compliance, and best practices. The attorney will work closely with settlement staff, lenders, agents, and buyers/sellers to resolve legal issues, clear title defects, and ensure timely, accurate closings. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chantilly, VA, requiring consistent presence in the office and at settlements as needed. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law, including real estate and contract law, and the ability to interpret and apply relevant statutes and regulations. Proficiency in Due Diligence for real estate transactions, such as reviewing title reports, surveys, and corporate documentation. Licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar (Virginia license preferred or ability to obtain promptly). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and document drafting abilities. Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Client-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a professional, ethical approach to service.
