Registered Nurse - Pediatric Mental Health

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

36 or 48 hours per week with day, evening, and night rotation. Requires weekend, holiday, and on-call availability based on unit needs.

Job Description

As a member of our child and adolescent unit, you will care for patients aged 5-18 experiencing acute mental health crises. Our focus is on stabilization through a variety of group offerings including Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Coping Skills groups, alongside psychopharmacological interventions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve patient goals and ensure safe, effective, and therapeutic care.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in crisis.
• Participate in group therapy sessions to assist in stabilization and recovery.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State RN License.
• Minimum of two years of pediatric mental health experience.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
