Lead Software Engineer - Equities Settlements

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus at least 5 years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Expert proficiency developing, debugging, and maintaining applications with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, microservices, MQ, Apache Kafka, REST APIs, gRPC, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL
• Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for activities such as coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting, and setting standards to validate outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; ability to coach engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Proficiency across the software development life cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Preferred: Familiarity with post-trade technology functions, including trade settlements and SWIFT messages
• Preferred: Knowledge of financial services and related IT systems
• Preferred: Ability to manage workloads independently and meet deadlines

• Deliver creative software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using unconventional approaches where appropriate to address complex technical problems
• Build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards and encourage reuse of effective approaches
• Use software development life cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation
• Find opportunities to prevent or automate remediation of recurring issues and improve the operational stability of applications and systems
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and suitability for existing systems and information architecture
