HRIS Benefits Specialist

Benefits Specialist

The Benefits Specialist will serve as PeopleSoft application subject matter expert guiding configuration and implementation with a strong focus on Base Benefits and Benefits Administration for US. Redefine business processes to maximize application usage as required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop & document specifications for PeopleSoft configurations and associated interfaces
  • Guide the development of training material and technical documentation
  • Provide production support to a fast-paced payroll environment.
  • Supports annual open enrollment and qualified life events during the year
  • Lead the testing of new or modified systems or processes.
  • Prepare reports and other documentation related to project assignments.
  • Provide ongoing user support including troubleshooting and resolution of more complex system issues.
  • Identify process efficiencies, recommend innovative uses of software functionality, communicate design, implement solutions, and train end-users
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required or other related field or a minimum of 3 years Benefits experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years PeopleSoft experience with a strong focus on Base Benefits and Benefits Administration for US, PeopleSoft 9.2 experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of setup tables, system integration, and HCM Benefits processes and reporting.
  • Ability to research and analyze data to diagnose and resolve system issues.
  • Ability to write reports using Query Manager or SQL
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in a union environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrates consistency, flexibility, and commitment to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent issue resolution skills.
