[Priority Listing] Lead Kindergarten Teacher Fall 2026

Sacramento Waldorf School is seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and experienced Lead Kindergarten Teacher to join our Early Childhood team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep commitment to Waldorf education, a passion for nurturing young children, and the capacity to foster a classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and imaginative development of every child.

The Lead Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, rhythmical, and developmentally appropriate Waldorf kindergarten classroom. Duties include planning and delivering curriculum, guiding seasonal celebrations, collaborating with colleagues, maintaining ongoing communication with families, and participating in the life of the school community. The teacher will model warmth, presence, and intentionality in all aspects of classroom life and contribute to a strong faculty culture through collegial collaboration.

Education and Related Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required, in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred
• Waldorf Teacher Training or completion of a Waldorf Teacher Certification Program strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in an educational setting, preferably Waldorf

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Criminal Record Clearance.
• Mandated Reporter Training Certificate (AB 1207).
• Health screening and TB clearance.
• Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.

Technical Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Strong understanding of Waldorf early childhood principles and practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children and adults
• Ability to plan and carry out experiential, play-based curriculum
• Ability to maintain classroom rhythm, boundaries, and warmth
• Capacity for collaborative work, self-reflection, and ongoing professional development
• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to punctuality, communication, and follow-through.
