Software Engineer - Trading Platform Development

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 3 years of applied experience
• Practical experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Core Java experience across the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, CI/CD, and operational support
• Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or Amazon MSK
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and event-driven architectures
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis, GemFire, or Apache Ignite
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools, with the ability to assess and validate their outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, and security and resiliency expectations
• Experience with distributed systems and service patterns such as microservices and REST APIs
• Practical understanding of DevOps toolchains and agile, test-driven delivery
• Hands-on exposure to AWS services and ecosystems
• Familiarity with React is preferred
• Familiarity with trading systems is preferred; FIX protocol exposure is a plus
• Ability to solve complex, mission-critical problems with a pragmatic, hands-on approach
• A commitment to continuous learning and adopting emerging technologies and methodologies

• Collaborate with engineers to design, build, and deploy applications that meet business and functional needs
• Develop production-quality Java microservices using streaming, non-blocking, and reactive programming approaches
• Use technologies including Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, Amazon MSK, and AWS services to deliver scalable systems
• Support domain-driven design and participate in architecture and API design discussions, helping select suitable patterns and integration approaches
• Create and maintain technical documentation and service APIs using Swagger or OpenAPI, supporting strong logging, auditability, security, and monitoring
• Participate in code reviews and promote test-driven and behavior-driven development practices
• Help demonstrate service scalability and resilience through mock frameworks, performance testing, and related tools
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that integrate synchronously with appropriate systems
• Use approved AI coding assistants to improve code quality, speed, and productivity; validate generated outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding practices
• Apply software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, and share reusable learnings with the team
