Construction Manager I or II (HV)

Overview Construction Manager I or II (Solar, HV). Are you a proven leader in construction management with a passion for renewable energy? Join our team as a Construction Manager and take charge of delivering safe, successful, and profitable utility‑scale solar projects across the country. This role leads from the front on the site, where decisions drive progress, safety, and sustainability. We hire Construction Managers I and II with expertise in one or more key disciplines—civil, mechanical, electrical, piles, or logistics—to lead utility‑scale solar projects. You’ll excel in your area of expertise while contributing to high‑impact renewable energy builds. You will direct, plan, and manage all on‑site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with company safety standards and procedures. Location & Travel Details: This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be onsite at a project location. You may be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. Typical project duration is 8–12 months with designated daily per diem and a company vehicle and fuel card. Routine travel home (rotation) is eligible from the jobsite. Responsibilities Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures Oversee all construction activities, specific to assigned discipline, on the project Construct the project and work with the management team to maximize project profit Monitor and oversee construction activities and personnel within delivery timelines, including development plans and training requirements Keep Construction Manager II/III informed of progress and performance; monitor KPIs Cooperate with health and safety requirements and follow safe working procedures Act as a role model for the company's vision and values Promote equality in the workplace and appropriate behavior when interacting with colleagues Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company information Build, supervise, and lead teams Communicate effectively with crew leads on goals and expectations Ensure Foremen manage crews and subcontractors to provide a safe work environment Collaborate with CM II/III to facilitate a respectful environment for Foremen and crews Manage construction package elements of the procurement process Monitor contract performance against milestones, budget, and other metrics Maintain client relationships and ensure alignment with client expectations and scope of work Establish communication with Client Site Representatives to build trust Ensure all work in the assigned discipline meets Safety and Quality standards Proactively manage equipment and resources Complete personnel administrative tasks in a timely manner (expectation documents, performance management, etc.) Coordinate with Field Operations on resource management to optimize project profitability Support Business Development, Estimating, and Preconstruction as needed Qualifications Construction Manager I Qualifications & Compensation: Compensation $110,000-$130,000 / year, commensurate with experience Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience Three years of construction industry experience with knowledge of techniques, estimating, and management Experience in supervision on utility-scale renewables projects (Solar, BESS, or wind) preferred; EPC or large-scale projects experience considered High voltage electrical experience on large construction projects Construction Manager II Qualifications & Compensation: Compensation $130,000-$150,000 / year, commensurate with experience Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience Five years of construction industry experience with knowledge of techniques, estimating, and management Experience in supervision on utility-scale renewables projects; EPC or large-scale construction experience preferred High voltage electrical experience on large construction projects Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Take reasonable care of health and safety and support MasTec's Zero Injury principles Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, contracts, and regulations Prepare reports and project documentation; effectively present information Compute figures and analyze data as needed Interpret instructions and work with diverse schedules Working Environment Outside weather conditions; noise and physical demands typical of construction sites Exposure to moving parts, heights, heat, fumes, and vibration as applicable What’s in It for You Financial Wellbeing Competitive pay with ongoing performance reviews 401(k) with company match and ESPP Flexible spending accounts (Healthcare & Dependent care) Health & Wellness Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; coverage for dependents Diabetes Management, Telehealth, Prescription Drug Plan, Pet Insurance Family & Lifestyle Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Bereavement Leave; Military Leave with differential pay Employee Assistance Program Planning for the Unexpected Short and long-term disability, life insurance, AD&D, voluntary coverages Emergency Travel Assistance, Group legal plan Note: Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, including background check and drug testing.
