Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for surgical patients in the OR, including circulating and scrub roles as assigned
- Maintain sterile technique, infection control, patient positioning, and equipment readiness
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery; document perioperative observations and interventions
- Assist with DaVinci robotic cases and complex procedures (head and neck, neuro spine, ex-lap)
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff; manage instrument counts and turnover
- Floats to all ORs as needed; participate in the on-call schedule; comply with safety and regulatory standards
- Document thoroughly in the electronic medical record; participate in postoperative handoffs

Requirements
- Active Kansas RN license
- AHA BLS certification
- 2+ years of OR experience; Level 1 trauma experience required
- Strong scrub experience; familiarity with DaVinci robotics; experience with large head/neck cases, neuro spine, and ex-lap procedures
- OR experience across orthopedics, general surgery, trauma, gynecology, urology, and plastics preferred
- Floating to all ORs and ability to work on-call (up to 6 shifts in 13 weeks)
- Weekend requirements: none beyond set schedule
- Orientation: new employee orientation Monday–Tuesday; nursing orientation Wednesday–Friday; offered every week in the summer
- Education: graduation from an accredited nursing program with active RN licensure in Kansas
