Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of Level I/II ED experience, active MA RN license, and the ability to pass a telemetry competency test.

Details

• Large, high-volume adult ED with up to 120 treatment areas serving 350–440 patients per day
• Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 48-hour contracts are preferred; 36-hour contracts will also be considered
• Two weekends required per every 4-week schedule period
• Every other holiday required
• Patient ratio of 1:4–5 depending on acuity
• Floating required to Psych ED and Pedi ED (Pedi ED for patients age 15+ unless prior pediatric experience is held)
• Travelers will not be assigned to trauma rooms during this assignment
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Level I or II trauma center environment

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Active, unexpired certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED experience, or 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
• Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, identify heart blocks, and pass an on-site telemetry test with a score of 85% or higher on Day 1
• Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (Test A or B) prior to consideration
• Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), one reference must include a performance evaluation completed within the last 12 months, and the other within the last 3 years
• References cannot be provided by another traveler
• Valid, non-expired driver's license required
• A skills checklist completed within the last year is required

Additional Information

• Critical care experience is preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience is preferred
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be offered a local pay rate
• This is a 13-week assignment
