Leveraging rigorous engineering principles, the team integrates safety into every phase of the system lifecycle, enhancing reliability and safeguarding our warfighters.We are currently hiring for System Safety Engineers. This is an onsite role and can be located in Woburn, Tewksbury, Marlborough, Andover, MA or Portsmouth RI.What You Will Do:Supporting execution of the safety strategy for the program to meet all its milestones with system safety features integrated into the product in compliance with contract and awarded fundingSupport the program schedule and integrated system safety tasks and activities into program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)Engage the Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on technical execution, artifact review, attending customer reviews, etc.Support multi-IPT program meetings to ensure that system safety items are considered and to understand current program-wide issuesEnsure program leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and planned mitigationsAnalyzing engineering software and/or firmware in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, and other relevant standardsWorking with software development teams to review and analyze embedded software codeParticipating in the execution of the Software System Safety ProgramInterfacing with various stakeholders, including customers, program offices, subcontractors, and vendorsAssisting with the preparation of Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for customer approvalAssisting with software safety technical reviewsInterpreting system requirements, customer specifications, and military standardsCollaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a comprehensive understanding of product architecture and designQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experienceExperience with systems, software or test engineeringQualifications We Prefer:Experience performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400)Experience preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety programExperience writing technical reports and presentationsExperience reviewing software code and requirements for safety considerationsExperience collaborating across multiple disciplinesExperience interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware EngineeringExperience managing Working GroupsWhat We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
