Accounting Specialist

Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Contract position

Zing Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Specialist to support financial and data management activities for our client in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and identifying discrepancies within systems and reports.

The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, researching variances, and making corrections as needed to support daily business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and maintain financial and operational data for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies in reports and system data.
• Research issues and make appropriate corrections within company systems.
• Perform data entry, validation, and reconciliation activities.
• Generate, review, and verify reports to ensure accuracy of information.
• Assist with account reconciliations and financial record maintenance.
• Work across multiple systems to update, verify, and manage data.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve data and reporting issues.
• Maintain organized records and documentation of corrections, updates, and audit trails.
• Follow established procedures and ensure compliance with company policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, data analysis, administrative support, or a related role.
• Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Comfortable working with numbers and identifying data inconsistencies.
• Proficiency with computer systems, spreadsheets, and databases, including Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
