Safety Supervisor

Job Title Safety Supervisor Location Austell, GA – Paper Mill Overview Greif is a global leader in performance packaging. The Safety Supervisor will lead and support workplace health and safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, preventing injuries, and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards. Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Lead incident and near‑miss investigations and recommend corrective actions. Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement. Coordinate and deliver employee safety training and onboarding programs. Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety committee activities. Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance requirements. Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and regulatory documentation. Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness activities. Support workers’ compensation and return‑to‑work programs. Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to reduce workplace hazards. Mentor and provide guidance to Safety Leads, Production Trainers, and site personnel. Track and report key safety metrics, including Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR) and near‑miss reporting. Promote a proactive safety culture focused on zero incidents and continuous improvement. Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while supporting their professional growth and performance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments with a safety‑related degree; 10+ years may be considered in lieu of a safety‑related degree. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance requirements, and safety management systems. Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred. Demonstrated experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and employee training programs. Proven ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective corrective actions. Experience working in a fast‑paced manufacturing or industrial environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and safety reporting systems.
