You will be responsible for Performing outstanding technical work for clients to include:National, state, and local fire and building code reviewsAnalysis of active and passive fire protection systemsLaboratory experimental design, construction, and coordination of testingFire and explosion investigations including hands-on experience in the fieldWorking in teams on complex interdisciplinary problems, often with tight deadlinesManaging multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with experts in other technical disciplinesIdentifying and pursuing business development opportunitiesProject management and building client relationshipsPreparing proposals and technical reports, and presenting findings to clients You will have the following skills and qualifications M.S., M.Eng., M.E., or Ph.D. in Fire Protection EngineeringPresently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.Professional Engineering License (PE) strongly preferredStrong technical background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and combustionMinimum of 5 years of industry experience in Fire Protection EngineeringBusiness development experience with a proven track record, and a demonstrated ability to attract new and/or repeat clients or fundingDemonstrated leadership skills, proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment, and strong mentorship skills with technical staffOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsStrong desire and ability to tackle a wide variety of problems within and outside direct area of expertisePrior experience with prescriptive and/or performance-based analysis and application of codes and standards published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Code Council (ICC), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and similarHands-on experience in fire protection system design, installation, inspection, testing and maintenance preferredApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page]. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
