Technical Skills


Proficiency in Java for backend development.


Experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium or Cucumber.


Experience building internal developer platforms.


Proficiency in AWS services (CloudWatch, Lambda, Step Functions, RDS, etc.).


Strong experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).


Knowledge of container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS).


Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.).


Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Github, Spinnaker).


Experience with incident management tools, specifically PagerDuty

Roles and Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain monitoring tools and dashboards to ensure 24/7 availability of our services.
• Design and implement automated solutions for incident detection, response, and resolution.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify and resolve issues.
• Integrate with various APIs (Spinnaker, PagerDuty, Git, DataDog, etc...) to create platform for continuous testing
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for operational tools.
• Create and execute automated tests using frameworks like Selenium or Cucumber to ensure tool quality and performance.
• Develop backend services and tools using Java or Scala.
• Integrate and manage incident response processes using PagerDuty.
• Create documentation and training materials for operational processes and tools.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.

Term: 9 Months


Long Term: Opp for conversion and extension


Location: Will work from 1211 Avenue of the Americas the first few months, then office is moving to 7 Hudson Square New York NY 10013 location. MUST be comfortable working 4 days per week in office

• Ideal Candidate: Full-stack experience with a focus on UI
• Experience Level: Looking for a high-level candidate

Goals & Responsibilities:

• Primary Goal: Trigger tests that will impact the team's streaming infrastructure
• AWS Experience: Required, as cloud experience is key to the role

Project Timeline:

• Initial Estimate: 8.5 months
• Extension Likely: Roman expects the project to take 2 years, so the contract will likely be extended

Location & Work Environment:

• Manager Location: New York
• Location Preference: Ideally, the candidate will be based in New York
• Secondary Preference: East Coast time zone
• Office Requirement: Officially, 4 days per week in the office
• Future Plans: In April, the requirement will be to work at the 7 Hudson location in downtown Manhattan
• Flexibility: The 4-day in-office requirement is subject to manager approval, but Roman anticipates that the company will enforce this policy in the future, so candidates need to be open to it.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Core Skills: Strong system knowledge
• Programming: Java, Spring Boot
• Database: Postgres
• Testing Frameworks: Familiarity with Selenium is a must
• Industry Experience: Not essential, but experience with commerce and web testing platforms is valuable

Interview Process:

• System Design: Virtual whiteboard interview (may involve partially completed designs or prompts with specific requirements; conducted by another manager on the team)
• Coding Test: Live coding session using HackerRank, focusing on Java
• Behavioral Questions: Standard interview questions related to teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving
