Location: In-office position (not remote)
Schedule: 4 days per week, approx. 25–34 hours
Pay: $24–$27 per hour (based on experience)
About Us
We are a busy, well-established oral surgery practice seeking a reliable and detail-oriented team member to manage our in-house dental billing and claims processing. Our office values efficiency, teamwork, and providing an excellent patient experience.
Position Overview
This role focuses specifically on dental claims processing and insurance follow-up —no medical billing required. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit and track dental insurance claims
- Verify dental insurance benefits and eligibility
- Follow up on outstanding claims and appeals
- Post insurance payments and adjustments accurately
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues
- Work closely with the front office and clinical team to ensure accurate documentation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental insurance policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Experience with dental billing and claims processing required; CDBS preferred, but not required
- Strong understanding of dental insurance plans (PPO preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow claims through to completion
- Experience in an oral surgery or specialty practice is a plus
- +2 years' experience in billing & coding role, preferably dental
Schedule & Flexibility
- 4 days per week (25–34 hours total)
- Some flexibility in scheduling within business hours
