Accounts Payable Specialist

Description: Ascension Property Services is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist who is responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This role requires a proactive individual who can communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the organization's overall financial health.

- This role is Full-time, onsite, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Occasional overtime may be required during month-end close or peak periods
- Process and manage accounts payable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy, coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Ensure invoices are entered and paid according to payment terms and company policy
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure all invoices and payments are properly recorded
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoice status, payment inquiries, and discrepancies
- Collaborate across departments to resolve billing issues and maintain efficient workflow
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions
- Assist with vendor setup and maintenance, including collection of required documentation such as W-9s
- Support month-end closing activities and reporting as needed
- Help implement and maintain effective internal controls related to accounts payable
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance AP efficiency and accuracy
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting/finance role
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable best practices
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
