Location Erie 1 BOCES FinanceServices E1B Education Campus West Seneca, NY Hours 8:00AM – 4:00PM Hourly Rate $28.64 Annual Education Stipends $500 for Associates Degree/Accredited Training Program Certification or $1000 for Bachelors Degree or $1500 for Masters Degree or Benefits 15 Paid annual Holidays Generous Paid personal/sick time Generous Paid vacation days Premium Health and Dental plans (E1B pays 85%) Life insurance at NO cost to you FSA plan Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion NYS RetirementSystem 403b AND 457 retirement plans Job Responsibilities Reviews and processes financial transactions, which may include invoices, billings, cash receipts, cash disbursements, budget amendments, payroll transactions, federal grants, etc. Entry level professional accounting duties requiring the application of accounting principles and practices in a wide range of activities. Prepares standard financial reports for use by Board of Education, division and finance staff. Review and check such financial records as contract billing, invoicing and travel conferences’ for accuracy and conformance to standards. Prepare a variety of accounting and budget reports for review by their supervisor. Assist in reconciling and balancing financial and budget reports. Complies data for statistical and financial reporting purposes. Reviews and checks financial documents for accuracy. Reconciles financial information, identifies and resolves issues. Assists in developing and/or revising documentation for critical internal financial functions, ensuring documentation is indexed for ease of use and updated annually. Reviews current transaction processes and recommends changes that enhance internal controls and/orefficiency. Trains other team members on critical functions; thereby ensuring departmental effectiveness. Assists team members by sharing information and assisting during times of high volume, absences, and in meeting deadlines. Serves as primary back‑up for Deputy Treasurer functions during times of extended leaves and/or position vacancies. Responds to queries from customers, divisions and finance staff regarding areas of responsibility. Maintains files for accounting and compliance purposes. May create reports within WinCap and/or Excel which assist divisions in analyzing financial information and/or transactions. May train division personnel in departmental policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned that are relevant to the civil service job description for this title. Minimum Civil Service Qualifications Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance; OR An Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance and two (2) years of satisfactory accounting or auditing experience; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
