Quality Control Technician

Quality Control TechnicianWieland is hiring a Quality Control Technician. The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for performing inspection upon receipt of materials and recommending disposition, reviewing finished products to conformance of Mechanical Prints, performing and auditing in-process checks to ensure compliance with procedures and ASME Code regulations, and working in conjunction with other departments to meet goals of safety, quality, cost, and delivery. This role is located in Delaware, OH and will be fully on-site.Starting Pay: $24/hr, with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualificationsShift Differential: $0.75/hrSchedule: 2nd Shift - Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm-2:30am*** Training on 1st shift - Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm for approx. 30-60 daysPay Schedule: Bi-weeklyResponsibilitiesUnderstands and adheres to company Quality Control procedures, as related to overall inspection requirementsCooperates with production personnel and supervision to ensure maximum production with optimum quality as established by managementInspects incoming, in-process, and outgoing material, parts, and assemblies to specifications and Mechanical Prints following standard shop practice and/or special instructionsPerforms specific calibrations, specific tests, and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and records the resultsInitiates internal NCRs and collaborates with Production to correct issuesDisposes rejected material appropriatelyAssists the Quality Manager and others in the completion of various projects and implementationsCompletes other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) requiredAt least three (3) years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with Quality as a primary function requiredExperience reading mechanical drawings/prints, inspecting components, and writing technical reports requiredMust be able to use standard and metric tape measures, calibers, weld gauges, and other quality/inspection tools proficientlyMust be or become CI/QAI (Certified Individual/Quality Authorized Inspector) and Liquid Penetrant certified within 90 days in this positionVocational or associate's degree pertaining to position preferredAble to perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching, and may frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbsAble to perform work in a medium industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, climbing ladders/stairs, and working in close quartersAble to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Detail orientedStrong analytical skillsMicrosoft Excel/Word proficiencyJoining Wieland's team gives you…Benefits - Including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life & more!Retirement Savings - 401(k) contribution + match.Work/Life Balance - Paid Vacation & Holidays.Growth Opportunities - We have over 9,000+ employees worldwide and 40+ locations in North America alone.
