Assess patients across various age groups using standardized tests and observational methods.
Design tailored treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
Conduct personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and family members to ensure comprehensive care strategies.
Provide education to patients and their families, empowering them to support progress beyond therapy sessions.
Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to guarantee seamless care throughout the treatment process.
Keep precise and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Engage in ongoing education to stay informed of the latest advancements in your field through professional interactions.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not certified by ASHA.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based approaches for all age groups, with a thorough understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with a focus on patient and family engagement.
Flexibility to adapt therapy methods to address varied cultural and linguistic needs.
Strong clinical judgment alongside critical problem-solving skills.
Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and ensuring proper documentation standards.
