Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized therapy to students, couples, and families, addressing a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges.
• Conduct comprehensive mental status examinations to assess client needs effectively and tailor treatment plans accordingly.
• Develop, document, and maintain thorough case records, progress reports, and individualized treatment plans, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and state regulations.
• Utilize a calm and empathetic approach to de-escalate high-stress situations and alleviate emotional distress during therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with educators, school psychologists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care and support for students.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to foster shared experiences and facilitate peer support among clients.
• Engage in regular consultation with colleagues to share insights, strategies, and resources that enhance team performance and client care outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on students ranging in age from elementary through high school, alongside their parents or guardians. You will work with clients experiencing a variety of mental health challenges and emotional difficulties, nurturing their social and emotional development. Your role will be pivotal in creating a safe space for clients, encouraging open dialogue, and building trusting therapeutic relationships.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Valid Virginia state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the ability to practice independently.
• Demonstrable empathy and high emotional intelligence, essential for building rapport with a diverse client base.
• Strong organizational skills, with the capability to manage multiple cases and maintain timely documentation.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, facilitating clear interaction with clients and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of direct clinical experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, and/or families, preferably in a school or community health setting.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
• Experience working collaboratively with educational professionals.

Compensation and Benefits
