Education Program Manager

Executive Director

Education Program ManagerHelp shape how the world's leading spine surgeons train the next generation. As Education Program Manager, you'll work hand-in-hand with a distinguished, physician-led volunteer leadership team — practicing cervical spine surgeons who set the educational agenda for the specialty — turning their vision into conferences, webinars, and content built on cutting-edge cervical spine research from top academic institutions across the country. The Education Program Manager is the operational partner to a team of volunteer physician leaders — practicing spine surgeons serving on the Education Committee, Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee, and Awards Committee — who set the strategic direction for CSRS's educational mission. In this role, you'll translate their expertise and priorities into world-class programming: live courses, webinars, and digital content grounded in cutting-edge cervical spine research from top academic institutions around the country, along with recognition programs that shape how cervical spine care is taught and practiced. The position requires a high level of responsibility, along with the discretion and sound independent judgment to keep multiple physician-led initiatives moving forward at once.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Serve as the key liaison to the CSRS Education Committee, a group of practicing spine surgeons; schedule approximately four committee calls per year; partner with the physician chairs to set agendas; write minutes; and prepare board reports twice per year.Work with Education Committee surgeon-leaders to design and deliver educational programming at other society annual meetings (typically three per year) — recruiting speakers and moderators and collaborating with the sponsoring society.Help the Education Committee build and launch educational webinars (typically three per year), bringing expert surgeon insight to audiences worldwide.Collaborate with other CSRS physician committees to curate educational content featuring cutting-edge cervical spine research from top academic institutions around the country, for the CSRS website and YouTube channel, reaching both patients and surgeons.Guide the committee's surgeon-leaders as they develop new educational initiatives and bring fresh ideas to life.Serve as the liaison to the CME Committee, working directly with its physician chairs; schedule approximately two committee calls per year; develop agendas; write minutes; and prepare board reports twice per year.Manage the Annual Meeting speaker disclosure process in partnership with the CME provider.Oversee the review process for the Top Abstract Awards at the Annual Meeting, supporting the surgeon reviewers who select the winning research.Serve as the staff liaison to the Awards Committee, supporting the surgeon-led selection process for the CSRS Lifetime Achievement Award.Other duties as assigned.Skills and qualifications:A natural project implementer who enjoys turning ideas into finished programs; ability to meet deadlines with acute attention to detail and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Confident and comfortable when working with high-achieving physician volunteers, with the poise to staff and facilitate conference calls and meetings with committee leadership.Previous association management experience and familiarity with nonprofit leadership a plus.Computer proficiency, with outstanding organizational and communication skills required.Education/experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.Travel required: Travel to the Annual Meeting (end of November or beginning of December) each year is approximately six days, including a Saturday is required.
