Transdev in Sumter, SC is seeking an Auto Mechanic I to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various vehicles and equipment. As an Auto Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

• Competitive compensation package of minimum $20.00 - Maximum $25.00 / hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and replacements on gas & diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Assist in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize vehicle performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for gas and diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications (Must include resume or summary of qualifications on application):

• 3 years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic.
• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided
• Mechanic's Tool Set
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:


The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed in a shop, work alone and in remote locations.
• Stand for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
