Assembly Operator

Assembly OperatorThe Assembly Operator is responsible for safely performing machine setups and operating resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly equipment and automated production lines. Incumbent must also control and adjust the functions and settings of machines and will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards with regard to assembly specifications.Essential Functions:Set-up and operate resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly/automated equipmentPerform machine set-ups as needed when the production schedule demands.Trouble shoot machines and adjust the functions and settings of machinesPerform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelinesTest the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth runningPerform preventative and regular maintenance on press to ensure that their operational life is extendedConduct operations in a manner that promote safety. Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards.Participate in 5S activitiesRequirements:High School Diploma or GED preferred1+ years previous relevant experience in a manufacturing environmentPrior welding or assembly experience desired, metal stampings preferredWorking knowledge of resistance and MIG weldersExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work independently, as well as part of a teamAnalytical and problem solving skillsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desiredCompliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and proceduresAttention to detailMust have excellent attendance as well as willingness and ability to work overtimeAmericans with Disabilities Specifications:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
