Our client is a rapidly growing wholesale distribution company serving a diverse customer base across multiple markets. With ambitious expansion plans and a strong entrepreneurial culture, the company is looking for a business development leader who can help drive its next phase of growth by identifying new opportunities, building strategic relationships, and expanding revenue.
Position Overview
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving new business growth and developing strategic partnerships to expand the company's customer base and market presence. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to identify opportunities, build relationships, and execute growth initiatives that directly impact the company's long-term success. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys creating opportunities from the ground up, thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, and has a proven track record of generating new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Develop and execute business development and sales strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective customers and key industry partners.
- Generate new revenue through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship building.
- Collaborate with leadership on growth initiatives and market expansion.
- Negotiate and close new business opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities.
- Represent the company at networking events, conferences, and customer meetings.
- Maintain an active pipeline and provide regular updates on business development efforts.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of business development, sales, or strategic partnership experience.
- Demonstrated success generating new business and growing revenue.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working in wholesale distribution, consumer products, manufacturing, logistics, or another growth-oriented B2B industry is preferred.
- Comfortable working on-site in Lakewood, NJ.
