Details Work in the PCU (stepdown) unit of a Level 2 trauma acute care hospital 35-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes diagnoses Includes continuous EEG monitoring for select patients Patient ratios of 1:4-5 RNs are required to titrate drips including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications Charge Nurse present on each shift Nurse aides/patient care techs available at 1:10 or 2:20 ratios 12-hour night shifts, scheduled 0630-1900 or 1830-0700 Every other weekend and every third holiday required No call or standby requirements Floating required to Medical floors, ICU, or rehab Uses EPIC EMR Unit-specific orientation includes onboarding week plus 1-2 days on the floor Requirements Active NE or Compact RN license currently in hand Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS BSN not required for this position Experience with titratable drips and cardiac/stroke patient care preferred Driver's license required at time of consideration to confirm permanent residence Must pass a Pass/Fail skills exam (90% required) during orientation Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced stepdown unit, managing titratable drips and continuous EEG monitoring Success on this unit is supported by a positive attitude, strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Artificial fingernails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, and driver's license will be used to verify permanent address Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year Up to 7 days of RTO must be requested upfront for the 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-742543.
