Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Lead Metalizing Technician for our client. This job is responsible for leading daily operations of the metalizing process within the facility. Monitors all mechanical support in the metalizing process, including overall product consistency and quality. Leads the activities of other employees through technical knowledge and sound decision-making abilities to support product quality and ensure customer satisfaction.

What’s a Typical Day Like?

• Lead daily activities and communication of the production team.
• Manage mechanical installation on metalizing production lines.
• Prepare tooling according to the production schedule.
• Perform machine changeovers and clear machine jams.
• Clean equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
• Adjust and fabricate material feeding systems, tracks, fixtures, and tooling.
• Diagnose and repair sensors, relays, servo systems, motor controls, and PLCs.
• Adjust robot positions, coordinate types, and troubleshoot robot errors.
• Manage mandrel cleaning operations.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and document equipment history.
• Advise operators on mechanical impacts to the process.
• Train and develop team members on machine cleaning and mechanical maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement programs and process operations.

What Are the Requirements of the Job?

• 3+ years of industrial paint application or similar experience.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs and VFD-controlled machinery.
• Knowledge of 120VAC, 24VDC, and 3-phase 480V control systems and electrical safety practices.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and automated system drawings.
• Proficiency with power tools and measuring equipment.
• Ability to maintain required hand and test tools.
• Microsoft Windows computer proficiency.
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and short-notice schedules when needed.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• ABB/SEW and Mitsubishi drive technology knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to distinguish between colors and varying shades of color.
• Ability to work safely in an industrial environment with electrical hazards, pinch points, burners, fumes, paints, solvents, and natural gas.
• Ability to follow required PPE procedures, including safety glasses, hair/beard net, lab coat, and appropriate protective gloves.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
• Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
• Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
• Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Communication skills.
