Epicor Kinetic Technical/Functional Consultant

The Epicor Kinetic Technical / Functional Consultant serves as both a business process expert and technical consultant, helping manufacturers maximize their investment in Epicor Kinetic both on-prem and cloud based. This role combines functional consulting with technical development, supporting implementations, upgrades, customizations, reporting, integrations, and continuous process improvement.

The ideal candidate has experience leading full-cycle Epicor implementations and possesses strong manufacturing knowledge along with hands-on technical expertise in Epicor customization and reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities

ERP Consulting & Implementation

• Lead full-cycle Epicor Kinetic ERP implementations, upgrades, and module deployments.
• Conduct discovery sessions, business process assessments, and fit-gap analysis.
• Gather and document business requirements.
• Configure Epicor Kinetic to align with operational objectives and industry best practices.
• Lead conference room pilots (CRPs), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), cutover planning, go-live activities, and hypercare support.
• Provide project status updates and implementation recommendations to client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with technical teams on customizations, integrations, and system enhancements.

Business Process Improvement

Analyze, redesign, and optimize business processes across:

Develop and support Epicor Kinetic solutions utilizing:

• Business Activity Queries (BAQs)
• Business Process Management (BPM)
• Dashboards
• Data Directives
• Method Directives
• Application Studio
• REST API integrations
• Functions
• Kinetic UI customization
• SSRS Reporting
• Crystal Reports
• Epicor Data Management Tool (DMT)
• Epicor Automation Studio (preferred)

Develop custom solutions while maximizing standard Epicor functionality whenever possible.

Reporting & SQL

Design and maintain operational reporting utilizing:

• Microsoft SQL Server
• T-SQL
• BAQs
• SSRS
• Crystal Reports
• Power BI (preferred)
• Epicor Data Analytics (EDA) (preferred)

Responsibilities include:

• SQL query development
• Dashboard creation

Manufacturing & Shop Floor

Configure and optimize Epicor functionality supporting:

• MES (Manufacturing Execution System)

• Barcode Scanning
• Inventory Transactions
• Production Monitoring
• Work Center Management
• Job Management
• Capacity Planning

Support both on-premises and cloud Epicor Kinetic environments.

Data Migration & Integrations

• Plan and execute data migrations.
• Utilize DMT for data conversion and validation.
• Support legacy data mapping and cleansing.
• Design and troubleshoot ERP integrations.
• Support REST API and third-party integrations.
• Validate migrated data and production readiness.

User Training & Change Management

• Develop user training materials and documentation.
• Conduct instructor-led and virtual training sessions.
• Create standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support super-user programs.
• Drive ERP user adoption and organizational change.
• Provide post-go-live support and coaching.
• Mentor client ERP administrators and power users.

User Support & Optimization

• Troubleshoot functional and technical Epicor issues.
• Analyze root causes and recommend long-term solutions.
• Support month-end and year-end ERP activities.
• Evaluate new Epicor functionality and recommend improvements.
• Maintain ERP documentation and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Epicor ERP experience, including Epicor 10 and/or Epicor Kinetic.
• Multiple full-cycle Epicor implementations, upgrades, or major enhancement projects.
• Strong knowledge of discrete manufacturing business processes.
• Experience configuring multiple Epicor ERP modules.
• Experience with Epicor cloud and/or on-premise environments.
• Strong understanding of:

• Ability to travel approximately 30% throughout the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Epicor Kinetic Application Studio.
• Experience developing REST API integrations.
• Knowledge of Epicor Functions and Automation Studio.
• Experience with Epicor Data Analytics (EDA).
• Experience with CPQ/KBMax integrations.
• Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing organizations.
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
• Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments, including ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
