Financial Accounting Manager

JOB TITLE

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc (HATCI) is looking for a Financial Accounting Manager in our Superior Township location! In this role, you’ll oversee Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and Corporate Card functions, providing strategic direction, operational leadership, and financial oversight to support strong business performance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsibilities:

Day-to-Day:

• Review and approve journal entries – cash deposits, payroll, transfers between accounts, ROU asset and rent entries (entries that are not PO or CR related)
• Review entries done to the bank table for vendors and employees
• Review prepaid entries
• Support/manage employees with daily task when required.
• Review daily cash files

Monthly:

• Review and support Settlement file, Balance Sheey Account Reconciliations, AP Balance for Debit Amounts
• Review AR balance for past due amounts and bank statements - primarily pertaining to old outstanding checks
• Budget comparison – explanations for the budget variances & review the operating month to date and year to date explanations
• ASC 842 lease entries – manage and support this process

Quarterly

• Cashflow Statement worksheet (Quarterly financials and related footnotes for HMC)
• Balance sheet and Income statement variance explanations
• IFRS 16 leases
• Converted TB from GAAP ASC 842 to IFRS 16 (must be done as this TB is used for Balance Sheet and Cashflow worksheet)

Annually

• Interim - Audit (November/December) PBC list Jan through October
  • Prepare the Revenue and ASC 842 worksheet
  • Provide requested documents for TB and entries for the year, COSO, walkthrough testing and testing of expenses and assets
• Year end audit fieldwork (Primarily January /February some work in March) preparation of PBC list for remaining year
  • Prepare Revenue worksheet, 842 worksheet
  • Prepare related party footnote and related party confirmations
  • Prepare Financial statements and related footnotes (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Changes in Stockholders Equity and Cashflow)
  • Provide all requested document for testing balance to the auditors revised TB and entries for the year
  • Vacation and Utilities accrual (December)
  • Review and update of internal controls documentation

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of eperience in accounting, engineering or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (incl. Teams and SharePoint)
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred qualifications

• • CPA
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet, SAP or similar tools
  • People-Management experience is preferred
