Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates comprehensive nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department. This role involves participating in patient and family education and providing leadership while collaborating with healthcare team members to maintain high standards of professional nursing practice. The RN recognizes and respects each patient's individuality and right to quality care while ensuring the protection of patient rights and privacy. Accountability is upheld through adherence to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the ANA Code for Nurses and other regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver total nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department.
• Engage in patient and family teaching to enhance understanding of care.
• Collaborate with ancillary nursing and healthcare personnel.
• Ensure adherence to professional nursing practices and standards.
• Protect patient rights and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrate competence and accountability in nursing practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department (ED) is required; ENPC certification may be accepted in place of PALS.
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, BLS (AHA) are required.
• Current Michigan Registered Nurse license is required.
