We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support a range of accounting activities for multiple clients in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, producing timely reports, and helping organizations meet regulatory and reporting obligations. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage day-to-day accounting operations in a detail-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage general ledger activity for multiple client accounts and ensure financial data is recorded accurately and on schedule.
• Reconcile routine and complex balance sheet accounts, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting reconciliations to maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
• Produce financial statements and management reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss summaries.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to support accurate cash flow tracking and timely transactions.
• Administer payroll-related accounting and reporting activities in compliance with established requirements.
• Compile and analyze financial information to create reports that highlight account activity and performance trends.
• Assist with audit readiness by organizing documentation, responding to requests, and supporting the audit process.
• Prepare and file 1099 forms as well as sales and use tax reports in accordance with applicable deadlines and regulations.
• Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements and provide support on additional accounting duties as needed.• Experience in staff accounting with hands-on responsibility for general ledger maintenance and financial reporting.
• Strong ability to prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end supporting documentation.
• Working knowledge of sales tax reporting and corporate tax-related processes.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll administration responsibilities.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and interpret account activity and reporting trends.
• Understanding of regulatory filing requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client priorities effectively.
