About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed combined ICU and stepdown unit, managing both ICU and stepdown patient assignments as needed
• Care for a diverse critical patient population including ventilator-dependent patients, post-PCI, balloon pump, Swan-Ganz, CRRT, ECMO, sepsis, PE, post-thrombectomy, post-stroke (non-hemorrhagic), and DKA cases
• Manage and titrate vasoactive and other critical drips; maintain proficiency with vents, trachs, tube feeds, and chest tubes
• Operate and monitor unit-specific equipment including CRRT, Arctic Sun, balloon pump, EKOS, Penumbra, and pacer devices
• Document accurately using Cerner EMR; utilize Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitoring systems
• Float within scope of practice to PCU, MedSurg, or Telemetry units as needed

• Active RN license valid in Kentucky
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI certification required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience

• Hands-on experience with ECMO, CRRT, balloon pumps, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz)
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Philips monitoring systems
• Experience managing DKA, sepsis, and post-interventional cardiac patients
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Work in a well-supported unit with 24/7 intensivist and mid-level ICU provider coverage, dedicated respiratory therapy, telemetry monitoring, charge nurse, and ancillary support staff
• Weekend rotation expected no more than every other weekend, with no on-call requirements and block scheduling considered
