Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician (NA/PCT)NaphCare is seeking to hire a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician (NA/PCT) to join our team of medical professionals in the Arizona Department of Corrections - Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ.Pay rates range from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour based on shift, site needs, licensure, and experience.Full Time and Part Time positions may be available!As a Correctional NA/PCT, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals with examinations, taking patient histories, vital signs, supporting administrative tasks, etc. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.ResponsibilitiesAs a NA/PCT, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication historyTaking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weightDocumenting medical history including medications, treatment and medical conditionsAssist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobilityProviding basic wound care, basic laboratory tests, basic patient education and instructionsObserving and reporting changes in patients' physical or mental health to nursesScheduling and coordinating patient appointmentsMaintaining inventory of medical and office suppliesAnswering phones, emails and other forms of communicationsQualificationsNew graduates are encouraged to apply!Requirements / QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Current Certification as Certified Nursing Assistant in AZBe able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issuesMust have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screeningPhysical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.Why Join NaphCare?NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US and we are growing.
