Operational Support Specialist

Job Description The Operational Support Services Specialist works under the direction of the Manager of Support Services as part of a team responsible for triaging, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing patient and insurance correspondence from all sources. Responsibilities include receiving documents via mail, email, fax, and bank lockbox transactions; scanning, separating, and indexing electronic images for multiple healthcare facilities; and loading those images into document imaging, workflow, and patient accounting systems. Responsibilities Triage and distribute patient and insurance documents to the appropriate departments based on an understanding of patient billing, collections, denials, and financial assistance processes. (10%) Collect, organize, and scan patient and insurance correspondence into document imaging systems. (50%) Ensure mailroom and document imaging activities are completed promptly and accurately to support timely account resolution. (15%) Sort, date-stamp, and distribute all incoming correspondence — including fax, email, postal mail, and checks — to the appropriate resources. Store documents electronically in compliance with HIPAA policies. (15%) Support additional department needs as assigned, including training new hires and cross-training across department functions. (10%) Experience Required: 1+ year of clerical, mailroom, or revenue cycle experience Preferred: 2+ years of clerical or mailroom experience in a healthcare revenue cycle setting Skills Healthcare support, mail processing, mailroom operations, administrative skills Additional Qualifications Proficiency in Google or Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn proprietary systems including Hyland and Cerner High school diploma or equivalent Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to lift and move packages up to 25 lbs Ability to read, review, and analyze written data and figures using a PC Role may require occasional standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, stooping, or repetitive motions Experience Level: Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fort Smith, AR. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
