Software Development Engineer In Test (SDET)
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of development and quality assurance, designing and building the automated testing frameworks that ensure our software is robust, scalable, and production ready. You will write code to test code, build internal tools, and champion a culture of continuous quality within our Agile development cycles.
Core Responsibilities
- Design frameworks: Architect, build, and maintain scalable, reusable automated testing frameworks from scratch.
- Write test scripts: Create comprehensive automated test suites for API, UI, mobile, and backend services.
- Integrate pipelines: Embed automated tests directly into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
- Eliminate manual work: Identify manual testing bottlenecks and engineer automated solutions to replace them.
Collaboration & Quality Engineering
- Review developer code: Participate in code reviews to ensure new features are highly testable and meet quality standards.
- Partner with developers: Work closely with software engineers to debug issues and root out flaky tests early in the SDLC.
- Define test strategies: Collaborate with Product Managers and QA leads to translate requirements into detailed test plans.
- Analyze metrics: Track, analyze, and report on test coverage, regression results, and software quality metrics.
Performance & Tools Development
- Build custom tools: Develop internal tools, mock services, and data utilities to accelerate the testing process.
- Execute performance tests: Design and execute load, stress, and scalability tests to ensure system reliability under pressure.
Required Technical Skills
- Languages: Professional coding proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Robot framework.
- UI Automation: Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, or Appium.
- API Testing: Deep understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Supertest.
- CI/CD Tools: Experience configuring pipelines in Jenkins.
- Databases: Solid knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases for test data setup and validation.
- Infrastructure: Basic familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS cloud platform.
