Human Resources Business Partner

Our client, an innovative international pharmaceutical company focused on specialized hospital sales, is seeking an HR Manager/Business Partner to lead their North American Human Resources function. As the sole HR professional in North America , you will act as a critical business partner to the NA Leadership Team and a vital link to Global HR initiatives.
This is an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment perfect for a self-driven "doer" who wants to shape a performance culture, manage the entire employee life cycle, and elevate the HR function for future growth.
This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite), located in the Princeton, NJ area.
Key Responsibilities
North American Leadership & Operations (Regional Focus)
- Full Life-Cycle Management: Manage all aspects of the regional employee life cycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
- Strategic Business Partnering: Serve as a trusted advisor, coach, and "sparring partner" to the NA leadership team, influencing regional strategy and operational planning.
- Employee Engagement & Culture: Build feedback, recognition, and retention systems that support a highly motivated, sales-driven workforce.
- Compensation & Payroll Oversight: Oversee benefits administration and coordinate with external vendors to ensure seamless payroll delivery and reporting.
- Compliance & Policy: Maintain and update regional HR policies, employee handbooks, and contracts, ensuring strict compliance with local labor laws while aligning with global frameworks.
Global Strategy & Organizational Design (Global Focus)
- Global Alignment: Partner closely with the Head of Global HR on workforce planning, strategic change management, and global merit/bonus structures.
- HR Digitalization: Drive the adoption of digital HR tools and technology to streamline processes and modernize the function.
- Strategic Initiatives: Participate in global committees to enhance corporate programs, such as onboarding frameworks, skill development, and buddy programs.
Position Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional HR certifications (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) are a plus.
- Experience: 7 to 10 years of progressive HR experience, with mandatory experience within the life sciences, biotechnology, or healthcare industries .
- Environment Match: Proven success navigating a fast-paced, matrixed, or entrepreneurial environment. Experience working with hospital-based sales teams is highly desirable.
- Global Exposure: Prior experience working within an international or cross-border organizational structure is highly preferred.
- Leadership Style: Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with strong leadership personalities and influence senior executives.
