Medical Office Specialist - Perioperative Medicine - Physician Practice

Overview Medical Office Specialist position in an outpatient medical office. The role provides administrative and secretarial support to the department, manages front desk functions in the ambulatory setting, and ensures a positive patient experience during check-in, scheduling, registration, and check-out, with follow-up support as needed. Responsibilities Perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties for the outpatient medical office and manage front desk functions identified in the ambulatory setting. Provide optimal support to the team and ensure patients receive high-quality care, satisfaction, and experience during check-in, scheduling, registration, and check-out; support patients post-visit for appointment needs and concerns. Qualifications Required: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; or equivalent experience. 1+ year experience working with the public in a customer service setting. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, visible environment while maintaining a professional and confident demeanor in stressful situations. Ability to navigate competing priorities and manage time efficiently. Must be able to travel to various locations. Must have reliable transportation. Proficient computer skills that may include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred: Associates Degree.
