Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Professionals passionate about supporting students with visual impairments are invited to explore an engaging school-based opportunity near Kannapolis, NC. This contract position is seeking a dedicated, Licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with an Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Endorsement. Both full-time and part-time availability will be considered, allowing you to tailor your schedule within the 2026-2027 academic year. This position offers a dynamic chance to make a significant impact throughout the district, with location specifics to be determined.
Key Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina TVI license with O&M Endorsement (required)
- Demonstrated experience in school settings as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Familiarity with ECATS or similar special education data platforms
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, adaptable to various learning environments
- Commitment to providing individualized and accessible instruction for students with diverse visual needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative TVI services to students K-12, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Conduct formal and informal assessments, develop goals, and monitor progress
- Provide adapted instructional materials, facilitate the use of assistive technologies, and collaborate with general educators and support staff
- Guide families and school personnel in best practices to enhance accessibility and independence for visually impaired students
- Maintain timely and thorough documentation in accordance with state and district compliance standards
