Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

• Current and active North Carolina TVI licensure with O&M endorsement
• Demonstrated experience in school-based environments, preferably with ECATS documentation systems
• Previous work as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired; strong advocacy for students’ needs
• Ability to collaborate closely with school teams, families, and specialized service staff
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive vision assessments and develop tailored instructional plans
• Deliver direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
• Maintain accurate student records and progress data, including ECATS entries
• Support IEP development and participate in related meetings
• Provide orientation and mobility instruction for safe, confident navigation
• Partner with school staff and parents to promote inclusive academic environments
• Serve multiple school locations as assigned
